The Lebanon Opera House Production Groups
CITY CENTER BALLET
City Center Ballet, Inc., founded in 1999, is the Upper Valley's premiere non-profit student ballet company. Its mission is to provide education in the performing arts by promoting classical ballet and other dance performances throughout the region. The Company is open to all interested persons including dancers, parents of dancers, and others interested in the promotion of dance in the Upper Valley. LEBANON COMMUNITY CHORUS
The Lebanon Community Chorus was formed in the fall of 1989 under the umbrella of the Lebanon Recreation Department. The chorus has grown from the starting group of approximately 25 to an average of 55 adults (and young adults) who get together once a week to sing for fun. The chorus welcomes anyone who wants to sing, without audition. At the end of each session, they perform not only for the general public, but also for the residents of Alice Peck Day Extended Care community and the Genesis Eldercare Facility. NORTH COUNTRY CHORDSMEN
The North Country Chordsmen are the Upper Valley's premier men's a cappella singing group singing four-part "barbershop" harmony. Over the past 25 years, the NCC has grown to a chorus of over 30 members and is a member chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, Inc. (SPEBSQSA) founded in 1938. The chorus performs an average of 18 times a year throughout New Hampshire and Vermont. The chorus attracts its membership from such diverse locations as Springfield, Plymouth, Topsham and Bradford, Vermont, and New London, Claremont and Haverhill, New Hampshire as well as Hanover, Lebanon, Norwich and White River Junction. NORTH COUNTRY COMMUNITY THEATRE
North Country Community Theatre is a non-profit organization devoted to the promotion of the performing arts in the Upper Valley region of Vermont and New Hampshire. Each year, NCCT produces a variety of shows employing the talents of the Upper Valley's actors, directors, producers, choreographers, technicians, dancers, and musicians. NORTHEAST SHAKESPEARE ENSEMBLE
NorthEast Shakespeare Ensemble (NESE) is a non-profit professional theatre company formed to bring quality classic theatre to scenic New Hampshire each summer. NESE treasures the magic and majesty of Shakespeare, and is committed to bringing his works, and other classics, to the live stage. Education is an important part of NESE's mission. In-school workshops with theatre professionals are conducted in area schools and hundreds of free tickets are distributed to students each year via the company's Youth Literacy Reward Project involving regional Summer Reading and Youth Theatre programs. Opera North, a non-profit organization, produces opera for northern New England with the highest musical and dramatic standards. UPPER VALLEY COMMUNITY BAND
Currently conducted by Carole Blake, the Upper Valley Community Band has been in existence since the Civil War. Everyone in the Upper Connecticut River Valley is invited to play with this outstanding band - - they only require that you can read music and have command of your instrument. VERMONT ROCK MUSIC CAMP
An incredible opportunity for Upper Valley teens, Vermont Rock Music Camp provides a forum for approximately 50 students between the ages of 11 - 17 to work closely with area professionals on the fundamentals of rock music performance. For five days in late July, students and faculty work together rehearsing, writing and arranging a short set of material for each band to perform in concert on the final day of the session. Rock Camp’s mission is to offer a structured music program for students interested in contemporary styles that fall outside the scope of traditional jazz and classical camps.
